I AM THE ONE WHO
Performance • Conversation • Experiential Learning
I Am the One Who is a solo performance with live musical accompaniment by music therapist Carolyn Koebel. It combines personal storytelling, taiko drumming, and expressive movement to explore trauma, resilience, identity, and the ways our experiences shape us. This biomythography received a Silver Award from the Women's International Film Festival and can be offered as part of a larger residency or educational experience for universities, graduate programs, healthcare organizations, conferences, and other professional audiences.
A residency can include:
-
The full 90-minute live performance
-
Facilitated post-performance conversation
-
Experiential workshops by Allison Ballard and Carolyn Koebel
-
Customized learning experiences connected to the needs and interests of the host organization
Rather than approaching trauma solely through lecture or academic discussion, I Am the One Who creates an opportunity to encounter these ideas through story, movement, rhythm, and reflection.
The goal is not simply to learn about trauma, but to explore how trauma, resilience, embodiment, and human connection shape our lives.
